It all started so innocently enough I think, though when I think back to it, I
have this feeling that it was meant to happen and was unavoidable from the
start.
I can't believe I am putting this down in words, but it is the only way I can

He laughed aloud at my onslaught of questions "Whoa slow down Hoss, you'll meet
her in a sec, she had to go to the ladies room. Anyways it was all sorta
sudden, wemet when I was stationed in Seattle, and got married 6 months after
we met. You'll love her Jim.. well there she is now." pointing across the
dinning room.
I followed his gesture and there you were. A beauty incarnate, I was glad Mike

A few minutes later we were sipping on our respective drinks, the long silence
growing embarressing in its length.
"So Jim, Mike here tells me you run a tour boat company." breaking the silence

I laughed "Well its not so much as a company. When my dad left me the yaught,
I couldnt afford to keep her and work, time wise I mean. And I loved sailing
it so much, that I decided I would rent it out for pleasure cruises. Its okay
anbd I get to go ont he boat alot more than I used to."
"Hey there's an idea Mark, you to should come out on the boat, I could take you
out to the islands."
"Hey sounds great !" Mark replied enthusiasticly.
"What do you do Clair" I said, just looking for an excuse to hear you talk
again.
"I'm a photographer, though not a very good one I fear. Weddings and the like
mostly. But it pays well when I do get work that is"
Just then a beeper went off, Mark swore to himself.
"I'll be right back guys, let me call in and see what they want." he said
getting up. "You know where the phone is ?"
"Over by the bathroom on the left there." I pointed.
Mark walked off quickly, dodging a clumsy bus boy.
"Does he get many calls, being in the Seals and all ?" I said looking back to
you, noticing your eyes were on me whiel I looekd away.
You glanced down at your menu when I turned back to you.
"Not many, but when they call he has to run, annoying sometimes"
"I can imagine."
You looked up to meetmy eyes, which were studying your face.
"Your staring.." you said quitely.
"I'm sorry, I didnt mean to. It's just that.." I found I couldnt continue.
"Yes I know." is all you replied
Mike came back a few minutes later, sitting down breaking the long silence that
had grown beteen us.
"Well false alarm, wrong number or something. So what are we going to order ?"
Time passed slowly, though Mike and I talked I dont recall much of what was
said, just that everytime I looked to you, I found you looking back, once after
what must have been the third time, a small smile played at the end of your
lips. After the 8th time, I new that there as no going back, I had to have you
or die.
"Mike I was thinking, if you could get next weekend off, I could take you guys
out, then drop you off at the base on Monday. The weather is supposed to be.."
I jumped as my coffe spilt, pouring into my lap. Sometime ago you had taken
off your heels and ten suprised me by slidding your foot up my leg. Startled I
had jumped.
